About coribeth

I was born in Brantford, Ontario, Canada and began writing at a young age and had my first books published in 2003 when I was in my twenties. They were poetry books entitled Touchstone Sword and Touchstone Sword II using the pen name Orchid Wren Cone. I soon went on to write such books as The Adventures of Flame Gurl series which is about a great new superhero living in Canadaville and Unchain which is about one girl’s struggle to release her spiritual burdens. I have also been taking photographs since I was very young, starting off with one of those cameras that has a cube flash that rotates and also has the long 110 film. Digital photography is more my pace now. Growing up in a Christian household, I became a born again Christian when I was just eleven years old. My faith in Jesus Christ is shown through out my works and I pray that not only will you be entertained by them, but you’ll come to know Christ and be uplifted by them. My favourite scriptures are Amos 8:11 and Psalm 81:7.

The Search

The Search

Jaded and scarred
Lost and confused
Desire for more
than what the
eye beholds.

Danger and fear
Darkness and delusion
Groping for a light
that you can’t
seem to find.

Searching and yearning
For the truth and wisdom
But you can’t seem
to see
an end to hopelessness.

Desire and Light
Desire and Answers
A Faith and Trust in something
Other than yourself
and your vices.

Longing and Reason
Hope and Truth
A feeling of peace
that passes
all understanding.

Jaded and hardened
Lost and wandering
Searching for the One
Who will hold you
in the shelter of
His wings.

Have you ever thought of the stars having a voice? Or the moon? Or the sun? I have. Kind of an amazing thought to think that those kinds of things can actually talk! And the whole planet can understand what they are saying, no matter what language us humans speak.

Psalm 19:1-6

Creation shown
as the stars declare His glory.
Creation shown
as the sun illuminates His majesty.
Creation shown
as the moon adorns His greatness.
Every tribe, tongue, and nation
has seen His splendor in the sky.
From generation to generation,
the Creation of God
glows in the night and in the day.

The heavens declare it,
the skies proclaim it.
Day after day they pour forth
His words.
Night after night
they display knowledge of
their God.
Their is no language
their voice is
not understood or heard.
Their words spread
to all the Earth
proclaiming God’s Creation.

Living Waters

Living Waters
Isaiah 55:1

Come ye to the waters,
the Living Waters of God.
The Waters bring new life;
you will thirst no more.

Come ye to the waters,
the Living Waters of God.
The Waters will restore –
make you anew.

Drink in goodness.
Drink in God’s love.
Drink in forgiveness.
Drink in God’s grace.
Drink in cleansing.
Drink in God’s hope.
Drink in renewal.
Drink in God’s peace.

Thirst no more.

Come ye to the waters,
the Living Waters of God.

Many of us go through life just wandering and hoping we have the answers. Or perhaps knowing we have the answers. But do we really? Are we just book smart and a know it all? Do we look at the big picture and the spiritual things in life? Do you know without a shadow of a doubt what life really is all about? What about the afterlife? Are you just merely existing? Does God exist? Will those book smarts help you with the answers to your questions?

Amused by life
and the absurdity of it all
yet, turning a blind eye
to what lies after this life –
an amusing thought?

Existing without
knowing or believing how or why;
a life that is certain
of what is certain –
that God doesn’t exist.

A chance existence.
The Big Bang.
Existing in the absurd life
of believing in nothing,
because believing in something
would make you insane.

Truth is too far fetched,
because Truth would mean
you have been lied to
right to your face –
deceived by the the Deceiver –
the father of lies.

Amused by life
and the absurdity of it all
yet, not seeing the Light
you seem to ignore –
a tragic thought…

Art Again

When I think of God’s creation, I think of it as a painting… that He is putting His paint on a large canvas. We far to often forget that God is the the Artist of our lives. We tend to stray, do our own thing and forget about God. Let’s remember Him again, and His art. Learn to create and enjoy our lives again and all that God has created and blessed us with.

Art Again

Imagine art again –
of white mountains
and cold seas.

Come down and hear,
sing and find every day.

Want more wing, but
do the road.

Dream of colour.
Use time to
imagine art again.

Fear and Apathy

What is it that you fear? Is it the unknown? The unseen? Something you don’t understand? Something you don’t care to know, see, or understand?

Fear and Apathy

The unseen.
The unknown.
We fear
what we cannot
We fear
what we do not
We run.
We hide.
We ignore.
We remain
We have no
to learn.
Shame on us…
