About coribeth

I was born in Brantford, Ontario, Canada and began writing at a young age and had my first books published in 2003 when I was in my twenties. They were poetry books entitled Touchstone Sword and Touchstone Sword II using the pen name Orchid Wren Cone. I soon went on to write such books as The Adventures of Flame Gurl series which is about a great new superhero living in Canadaville and Unchain which is about one girl’s struggle to release her spiritual burdens. I have also been taking photographs since I was very young, starting off with one of those cameras that has a cube flash that rotates and also has the long 110 film. Digital photography is more my pace now. Growing up in a Christian household, I became a born again Christian when I was just eleven years old. My faith in Jesus Christ is shown through out my works and I pray that not only will you be entertained by them, but you’ll come to know Christ and be uplifted by them. My favourite scriptures are Amos 8:11 and Psalm 81:7.

Jaded heart.
Callus feelings.
You feel
no hope.
You see
no cure.
You can’t help
but wonder if
there’s a future
for you.

You want to run.
You want to hide.
You can’t see past
Your jaded emotions

A spark of light
to melt
the pain
would soften you,
would heal you.
If only you could
see that there
is a future
for you.

You want to cry.
You want to hide.
You can’t break through
Your jaded emotions

Reach for Him.
He’ll soften you.
He is
the hope.
He is
the cure.
He can help you
and show you
you are loved.
There is a future
for you.

You want to run
into His arms.
You have been healed
of your jaded emotions

A Father’s Love

A Father’s Love

Wounded child
Battered child
Let Me comfort you
As a father should
In a loving way…
Not a hurtful way.
Let Me shelter you
Let Me comfort you and
Protect you
From your pain.
I’ll shield you
And keep you safe
Underneath the shelter
of My wings.
I’ll stay with you
And wipe away your tears.
I’ll never leave you lonely
And afraid.
Wounded child
Battered child
I love you.

Let the Lord be your Oasis in the desert.

Be my Oasis, Lord.
Satisfy my thirst.
Fill me up
to overflowing.

My journey through
the desert
has been long
and tiring.
I am dry.
I want to
rest in You –
in the shelter of Your
wings, in the
of Your hand.

I long for
living waters.
I know that
they will satisfy
every ounce
of my being.

Restore my life,
cleanse me,
make me pure.
Make me more
like You.
I need You
to be
my Oasis

The Chasm

Have you ever felt like you are in a chasm? There is hope!

The Chasm

You continue
to cling to your
lost hope.
You’re in
a snare that
is getting much
more painful.

You wander aimlessly
to find a
bigger shovel
to make
a larger
chasm of broken
hopes and dreams.

You begin to realise
that you are the reaper
of your sins harvest.
You’ve chosen
the road
that seems easiest
to follow,
yet, your heart isn’t in
it anymore.

The hike is
too monotonous…
still, you keep going.
Is there an easier way?

Look to the Guide
for direction
and hope.
He’ll pull you out
of your pit of
and direct
your path.
He’ll free you
from that
painful snare.
His love is
deeper than
the chasm
you’ve made.
In fact,
He’ll fill it with
love, joy, and peace.
It will be
as if that chasm
never existed.

Writing on the paper
Scribbles incoherent
A poem of sorts…
I think!
What does it mean?
Is it English?
Or French?
Or Pig Latin?
I’m not sure.
Can’t make heads
nor tails
of it.
Just jibberish
if you ask me.
Wait! I think
it’s this poem!

Wilderness Trek

Are you on a wilderness trek? Are you searching for your healing rain?

Wilderness Trek

Wilderness trek
Wandering away from it all
Longing for water
Longing for air
stepping towards away
Away from everything and
Aimlessly wandering
Aimlessly lost
Aimlessly confused
Where is the rain?
Where is the torrential downpour
Of healing rain
In this wilderness trek?

Take a Step

One step is all it takes to start on a new path!

Take a Step

Stepping away;
Walking for
the horizon.
Beyond your wilderness –
Still Waters.
